Welcome to Nellie & Norm Australia. We are a boutique children’s store supplying a large range of woven cotton hats for babies and young children.

My name is Rowena Flack and I am a busy mother of two and the creator of Nellie & Norm.

The unusual name was inspired by my grandparents, Ellen and Joe Grady. “Nellie” and “Norm” were their nicknames for each other and also the names by which their adoring children and grandchildren knew them.

Ellen "Nellie" Grady was a milliner with a devotion to colour and a talent for decorative trim.  So much in fact that in 1935 she ignored tradition on her wedding day by wearing a stunning gown made by her sisters from her favourite pink lacquered satin.  As a child I loved to look at the beautiful hats she created and listen to the wonderful stories she told of the fashion from days gone by...
